- Cheap food. (Cheap Thai food is the best!!)
- Expensive Liqueur.

- Watching live musical performances. Of any kind. (Except country...)
- Road trips. (all the roadside dives, and pisses included.)
- People who can draw.
- Anime...but he's in the closet about it.
- Comics...he'll admit to this before than he'll admit to anime.
- Reading actual books.
- Learning new instruments. Right now he's working on guitar, but he's nothing compared with his band mates on the instruments.
- Hearing his voice over the amps. Yea its a little self centered, but Levi likes it.
- Underground fashion. He acts like he doesn't know he's wearing the latest trends, but Levi always looks good.
- Creepy things. (unsettling visual imagery.)
- Dark Humor.
- Listening to other languages.
- Traveling...he hasn't done much of it, but he imagines he would love it.
DISLIKES
- Sluts & their male equivalents...though he's kind of one himself, he just manages to convince himself otherwise.
- High maintenance girls. (or people in general.)
- Impersonal performances.
- Cheaters, fakes, liars, and posers.
- Being told what to do, or how to do it.
- Being patronized or underestimated.

- Getting goopy things on his hands.
- Umbrellas. (...it's just water.)
- Reality tv. (esp the ones on which people claim to be looking for true love...)
- Corporate casual.
- Orange juice. & pears.
- Excessive makeup/perfume on girls.
- Muggy/humidness.
- Politics.
- Spiders.
FEARS
- Distorted bodies. Levi is most afraid of humanoid beings that open their mouths impossibly wide. Especially when they are complimented by teeth that might be a little too large, as in, just large enough so that one must question whether they are too large, or whether they are just a little larger than normal. But he dislikes the distortion of any body part. Long fingers, spindly legs, massive eyes...it all weirds him out.
- Excessive gore. He loves a good horror flick now and then, but the ones that are just pointless blood splattering scare him more than the ones that play mind games. Resultantly, he likes the psychological ones better.
- Zombies. Zombie movies is the most relevant of Levi's zombie fear, but yes, he has a Zombie emergency procedure, (and he will gladly share it with you if he thinks you deserve to live through a zombie apocalypse), and yes he's read the official Zombie Survival Guide, and yes, he's still afraid of Shaun of the Dead even though it's a parody.
- Not being able to touch in the ocean. Levi loves the water, but when he can't touch he starts panicking. It's fine if there's a swell and for a second he has to jump to keep his head above water, but if there's a good three or four feet beneath him he's scared.
- Stepping on things in the ocean. So he doesn't like not touching, but he also doesn't like touching anything other than sand. Even shells freak him out, because crabs have shells right? Yea, well they also have pincers. He's been pinched before; he would not fancy having it happen again.
STRENGTHS
- Singing. He's always had a good voice. In high school he got into the most advanced choir as a freshman. So he's got formal training in addition to belting out anything playing on the radio in the car. He doesn't have perfect pitch, but it's damn near close. He's also got a nice speaking voice and decent rhythm so he can rap a little without sounding too foolish. Mostly though, his voice is nice because it sounds effortless...which it pretty much is.
- Stage Presence. He's the front man. Not that he's conceded or anything (which he actually is), but he has to put on a performance. Lets face it. Most people will be watching him at the shows. He's never been afraid of the spotlight, the one aimed at him now is just a bit brighter.
- Good motivator. He knows how to work his audience, whether there are 2000 of them, or just one. Levi has a subtle way of making people feel good about themselves.
- He has high expectations for himself. Which is a good thing, because he'll usually go out of his way to please himself.
- Creative thinker. Levi has a slightly unique way of thinking. He tends to notice things that most people wouldn't; but he also tends to glaze over the things that most people would realize. Not consciously of course. But he is very good at taking in the big picture and the minute details simultaneously, where as most people would just observe one or the other.
- Spatially logical. He's been like this since he was very young. Levi can tell if something is crooked or uneven at a glance down to a millimeter. He's also excellent at estimating space and distance. It makes him very good at rearranging furniture and packing, but it also kind of drives him crazy because he will always notice.
WEAKNESSES
- He avoids his problems like the plague. Unless it seriously cannot wait without incurring severe consequences (as in jail time or life threatening severe), Levi will ignore his problems until the become jail time/life threatening severe. Avoidance is his form of "handling" a situation. Consequently, his life is a bit extreme.
- Excessive pride. Levi thinks he is the best thing since sliced bread. So is his band. (His bandmates are an extension of this, so they fall into the category of things he has too much pride in as well. They're the best thing since, well at least double-sided tape.) His pride makes him overly-confident and slightly conceded.
- Downplays his intelligence. Well, he's not the brightest crayon in the box, he's certainly not as stupid as he acts sometimes.
- Can't turn down a dare. Ever. It's not that he's super competitive or anything, he just gets a primal pleasure from proving people wrong.
- He tends to instigate. Fights, arguments, bad ideas...Levi has a habit of (and enjoys) winding people up. He doesn't like fighting, because he's rather small, and horrible at it, but he likes pulling the strings.
- Lives by his vices. Smoking, drinking, sex...Levi knows his motivation in life should be to make it big, and keep working toward the band goal, but he just can't take things seriously. When it comes down to it, he's still driven mostly by getting what he wants, when he wants it.
GOALS
- Become famous. Quite obviously, Levi loves the spotlight. And though In the Wake of Lacey has a bit of a following already, the greedy little bugger wants more.
- Graduate college at some point, though he doesn't know what he'll major in. This is mostly for his mother. She wants him to, and he feels slightly obligated to please her, plus he doesn't want to end up living like he did growing up so deep down he knows he needs a backup plan in case becoming a rock star doesn't pan out.
- Go sky diving. Levi wants to do this before he dies. Jumping out of a plane just seems like the ultimate adrenalin rush.
SECRETS
- He didn't actually graduate high school on time. He failed one of the classes he needed to get his diploma, and he didn't want to tell his parents that he had to repeat the 12th grade, so he took the class in the summer. They couldn't go to his graduation ceremony anyway so he just told them he went. His mom kept asking to see his diploma but he deftly avoided handing it over until the middle of august when they mailed it to him. He told them during the day when he went to class that he was working. When they asked why the date said July 27, 2007 instead of June 5th, he told them that was when it became official. They aren't the most educated people in Houston so they believed it.
- When he was 19, his then-girlfriend got pregnant. She had an abortion without even confronting Levi. He's not sure what he would have said had she confronted him, (probably that it was her body and her decision), but they broke up because she hadn't told him so it was pretty important to him. He's never told anyone that she was pregnant, or that it was the reason they broke up.
- Secretly, he envies his band mates for being skilled at an actual instrument.
PERSONALITY
impulsive Most of the time, Levi is running on adrenalin or caffeine. The whole decision making process is a little tedious for him and it tends to work better if he just goes with his gut. Doing things on a whim gives him a rush. But it also means he doesn't really prepare for the future very well. He's developed the very handy ability to think on his toes though.
loyal If you've gained Levi's friendship, and loyalty, it is very hard to shake him off. He depends on his friends for a lot: putting up with his insane ideas, letting him escape from his house, covering for him, and occasionally going along with him while he tells his lies...but he pays them back with interest. Levi would do anything...seriously, anything, for his true friends.
insensitive (slightly) His instinct is to think of himself first, and maybe, if he gets around to it, someone else second. And at times, it makes him come off as an insensitive jackass. But if he's called out on it he's not so arrogant that he won't fess up and apologize.
charismatic This comes naturally to him. Levi has never tried to be particularly social or charming, it just seems to happen. He makes friends quickly, and it's easy for him to make someone seem like they've known him for a long time. This, more than anything, is what makes him a strong presence on stage. He's confident, and doesn't get nervous under pressure so he comes off as very genuine.
stubborn This is probably the only result from having been spoiled as a small child. Levi doesn't like being argued with. He wants things done his way. He doesn't push his opinions on anyone else, so he doesn't like anyone else pushing their opinions on him. He's not overly decisive, so it's rare that his stubbornness becomes a problem, but when he's got his mind set, it is very difficult to sway him.
rebellious A byproduct of his excessive pride, Levi's rebellious streak has manifested because he hates being told what to do. Rules, are society telling him what to do. And it makes him feel patronized. He doesn't always go out of his way to prove that he can't be bothered with something so trivial, but he will not let them stand in his way.
sarcastic 90% of everything that comes out of Levi's mouth is dripping with sarcasm. It just comes naturally to him. Plus, most people think its funny, and getting a laugh means getting attention.
clever He's not overly book smart, but Levi does have his ways of proving that he's not a dumbass. It was mostly because of his cleverness that he got through school with decent grades (well, mostly decent). He can memorize things quickly, which helped. But he also seems to be much better at finding shortcuts than figuring things out the traditional way.
hypocritical This isn't universal, but in a few aspects, Levi is entirely hypocritical: mostly in things that he doesn't like about himself. For instance, he doesn't like that he sleeps with way too many people, so he doesn't like anyone else who sleeps around. If there is something Levi doesn't like about himself, chances are, he won't like them in anyone else, and he'll criticize them for it.

HISTORY Maryanne Vasser's fall from grace happened at the age of 19. Prima ballerina's didn't have have babies at 30, when their careers were unwillingly winding down as they tried to grasp at the last straws of their former glory, much less at 19 when they hadn't even attained any yet. But that was exactly what happened to Maryanne. She'd had promise: a scholarship to an elite Chicago dance academy and a spot at the head of her class. It was her one chance to get out, and it slipped through the cracks because Scottie Nyx needed a pity f*ck. They'd known each other for years before Stella was born; he lived right next door in Houston, Texas, and he'd loved her his whole life. Until the night Stella was conceived, Maryanne had barely paid him any mind. But they happened to be at the same party, and she happened to be celebrating a bit too vehemently, and he happened to look quite charming in his destroyed jeans, so before the end of the night it had happened. And before she could even go back to Chicago for her fall term, Maryanne knew her life was over.
Scottie was a gentleman about it at first. He did the honorable thing and proposed, and Maryanne might have thought she was doing the responsible thing by accepting. None of the soon-to-be grandparents were thrilled though, so they weren't getting any help there, and the young newlyweds, having eloped for a classy Vegas nuptial ceremony, realized all too soon that getting married didn't do them any good since neither Scottie or Maryanne had any idea how to live. Maryanne was spoiled. She'd never held a job. All she knew was dance, and that wasn't getting her anywhere while she was pregnant. Scottie was a manic-depressive burn out. Until he was kicked out for getting Maryanne pregnant, he'd lived in his parent's basement, scrounging for cash in their sofa cushions and selling his possessions when the couch didn't pay off. By the time Stella was born, Scott (no longer carefree enough to pull off his -ie), was on one of his depressive down-swings, and Maryanne had completely given up hope of ever having the life she had wanted. Three years later, Levi was born into much the same predicament as his sister. His dad was still depressed and his mom was hopeless.
Levi never minded the poverty much when he was young. It was all he knew. They lived in a sh*tty neighborhood, but there was still a playground, (though there were a few safety hazards involved...), he still had other kids to play with. He was happy as a clam. And his life had a predictable dynamic. Scott would get a job on his manic swings, he'd lose them when he got depressed and stopped going. Consequently, the jobs happened to get worse and worse every time. Maryanne taught ballet at the community center for a few years, but eventually it just made her sad so she quit. Stella was growing up very much on her own. By the time Levi was old enough to realize what was going on around him, Stella was about eleven. She habitually broke curfew; Levi realized later that she had probably lost her virginity pretty early on; she never ate with the family, and usually locked herself in her room during daylight hours if she was home. But eventually Levi realized he couldn't blame her. It was clear that Maryanne, who quite obviously blamed Scott for her life, also resented Stella for something that she could not have avoided: being born. They never got on well. Levi had a much better relationship with his mother. He assumed, once he was old enough to look at the facts, that Stella had been somewhat neglected after her birth. But Levi was almost smothered with affection. He was spoiled to the extent that the family's monetary situation would allow, and when he began school, Maryanne always took an active role in anything parents were allowed to get involved in.
Stella and Levi, astounding as it seemed to be with their parental situation, actually got on decently. His sister would resent Levi for being "loved" by their mother, but she was always smart enough to realize that it was Maryanne's fault, not Levi's. And Levi was smart enough not to rub it in. In fact, when he would get something that Stella was denied, he would always try to share it with her. For instance, when Maryanne went grocery shopping, she would always as Levi what he wanted before she left, and whether by avoidance or blatant neglect, forget to ask her daughter. Levi would always ask for what Stella wanted. So the siblings were on better terms than could be expected. But that wasn't enough to keep Stella around for very long. When Levi was thirteen, Stella left. She'd told him ahead of time that she was going to go stay with a friend, and eventually get her own place. She'd already gotten a job, (a better job than either of her parents had,) and she had always been the fearless one so Levi, in spite of his own fears that she would fail and have to come crawling back, let her go without much of a fight. If Stella knew she was going to be fine, that was good enough for him. It was two days before anyone realized most of her stuff was gone. A few months later, Stella was legally emancipated from her family.
As much as Maryanne tried to convince everyone that she didn't care that her oldest child was officially out of her life, Levi knew that she was hurt. The look on her face when he'd told her Stella was gone was enough to convince him. But he knew better than to argue with his mother so he just let it slide. He was also just starting high school, and Maryanne's decreased amount of interest in her son's academic achievements was reflective of the fact that she was slowly coming to accept the fact that she wasn't a very good mother. With Stella gone, Levi's house was lonely. He'd grown apart from his dad before he'd even had a chance to get very close, and with Maryanne not pushing the matter, he started drifting away from her too. After school he would go to Stella's when he just couldn't bear going home. He wasn't sure how, but Maryanne knew where he went. She would ask about Stella sometimes when she thought Levi couldn't hear the way her voice was trying to hold back tears. Levi hated those awkward conversations. He tried to avoid them at all costs, so to stay even further away from his house, he got himself a tight knit group of friends. He'd hang out with them after school, instead of coming home.
This caused another problem for him though. Maryanne, who was paranoid that she was going to have her other child leave her, started paying way too much attention. It drove Levi crazy. He was only a teenager. He didn't comprehend that he was his mother's entire life. He just wanted to be free. He was tired by now of being dirt poor, because most of his friends were rich. He was tired of his father locking himself in his room and being all emo. He was tired of everything, and his mother breathing down his neck wasn't something he had the stomach for. Levi hated most of his teenage years. He started smoking when he was fifteen, drinking when he was sixteen, and before long, doing both in excess. He hated it, but he knew he was turning into his father, without the manic-depression of course. He started f*cking up in his classes, and ended up graduating late, though his parents never found this out. And when he was nineteen, the similarities finally started getting strange. He'd been dating Natalie for about six months before she got pregnant. She wasn't a dancer, but she was nineteen, and she did have aspirations. It was probably for the better that she got an abortion; Levi would be the last person to want to bring someone into the world if they were going to have to go through what he went through, but the fact that Natalie hadn't even told him that she was pregnant until after she'd already "taken care of it" was what hurt him the most. She'd even had the audacity to just nonchalantly blow it off like it was nothing when Levi had asked where she'd been all week: "Oh, I was pregnant, but I've taken care of it baby." He didn't even know what to say to that. So he said goodbye. Not long after that, the boy who would soon become the front man for In the Wake of Lacey decided it was time to do something drastic with his life; and with a few friends, he hatched a plan to get famous.

ROLEPLAY EXAMPLE
Riley blinked a few times. New? English Teacher?...new? "What happened to Mrs. Casey?" he asked rather bluntly. It wasn't that he was attempting to be rude. It was just that he was caught entirely off guard. Why had no one informed him that Mrs. Casey was gone? ...it didn't really occur to him that his involvement in Mrs. Casey's career was completely non-existent. And that expecting anyone to inform him when she made a change was completely ridiculous. But admittedly he was still a little peeved. He turned his head left and then right to look down the hall. Maybe she'd changed classrooms...Riley disappeared from the doorway for a moment to go check the adjacent room. And then passed in front of it again to check the room on the other side. But neither of them were occupied by Mrs. Casey.
A moment later he was standing back in Ms. Wilson's doorway, still giving her a puzzled look. She was emptying things onto her desk now and as he watched her, he realized how rude he had been. Obviously she was new. She looked very young to be a teacher; probably older than him, but he was certainly much to young (and uneducated) to be a teacher. This must have been her first day too. She she was like the teacher equivalent of a freshman...and probably just as intimidated. "I'm sorry." He said loosening up a bit and momentarily forgetting his mission to find Mrs. Casey. "I didn't mean to be rude." Riley leaned against the door frame, unsure whether he should just bow out with the semi-grace he still retained and go check out his locker. But she had begun to speak again so he stayed put.
A wide smile broke out on Riley's cheeks. She thought he was a student; the nineteen year old looked down at himself. He was still pretty scrawny, but he thought at least his lack of acne and height would give him away. But then again, she probably had no reason to suspect that someone who didn't attend the school would be in her classroom before class even started; before the school buses even arrived. "Oh I don't go here." he said with a laugh, until he realized how creepy that might seem. Here he was, blocking her doorway for no obvious reason. There weren't many other people in the school...for all she knew, Riley was trying to molest her. He wasn't of course, but he could see how it looked. "I mean I did," he corrected himself quickly. "But I graduated already. I was just dropping off my brother and decided to come see what had changed." he said cheerfully. Riley shook his hear out of his long eyes and squinted to get a better look at her. "Actually, if you're sophomore English you'll probably have him."
Riley took a few steps into the classroom and sat down in one of the desks. It was much too small for him; he probably looked like a kid who'd been worked over in a taffy puller. "I'd watch out for him if I were you...bit of a trouble maker." he said with a furtive grin. His brother might actually be happy about having a reputation going in. It was preferable to having to make a name for himself. But the younger Rogers had never had a problem with that either. Extroversion sort of ran in the family.
